Richard Gear was a runaway because he was having a hard time getting there. Matt and Job was orphaned at an early age and was trained and were raised by their mom. Henry Belbin was building boats, and was working with Mike Normore off and on. Donald A. Smith worked for H.B.C arrived in Saglek Bay to do trading post. Happy-Valley, Labrador was advancing slowly as the isolating land accepting the military presence at Goose Bay, seven miles away.
