Them Days Vol. 13 No. 4 – 1988
Cod Fishery has been a Staple of Newfoundland. The S. S. Kyle was built by Swan, Hunter & Co. at Newcastle-on- Tyne, launched April 9, 1913. Clara Voisey writes a letter to her brother Amos. Mud Lake received a letter from Mrs. Avis McCurdy of Toronto. Anthony built a schooner and called her Clemmie Dalton, after his sister. June 6 th, 1938 an event occurred that would result in Edward Rudkowski’s eventual creation and eventual creation of his two sisters and seven cousins. When trawling on the Western Bank and the St. Pierre Bank was over, schooners turned to the lucrative Labrador fishery.
