at Gallipoli, 29 Nov 15: Shrapnel in left thigh and right shoulder. Sent to convalescent
camp in Malta.
Wounded
in France,12 Oct 16: Shrapnel in left knee. Invalided to hospital in England. Given
medical discharge and returned to Newfoundland. Detached to special duty, recruiting,
in Newfoundland from October to December 1917.
Re-enlisted
in Nfld. Forestry Unit, 10 Dec.1917 and promoted to Corporal. Returned to Scotland
on 30 Dec 1917, where he served until after the end of the war. Discharged on demobilization
6 Feb 1919.
